Very helpful and kind host, accommodated storing our bags for 12 hours on day of check out.
We (3 people) stayed in a private bunk bed room and each bunk is fully self contained with charging ports, shelf and a blind. There was enough space in the room for 3 large and 3 small cases and also storage lockers available.

Despite the weather and the fact that the restaurant we wanted to go closed at 6h30 pm, which was too early for our stomach, we had a great time in Lotte Resort, especially with the spa, the noraebang and the game zone located in the same building !

Getting to Sokcho is pretty easy from Seoul. Perfect place for sea food lovers! Beaches are very clean. And all the places are accessible by public transport bus. Pizzalazza restaurant for pizzas, Lotteria for vegan burgers- highly recommended. Sokcho eye gives you a very beautiful view of the city. Naksansa temple is very beautiful. So is Seoraksan national park- treat for nature lovers, both are easily accessible by bus.

A popular gateway for visiting Seoraksan National Park.
A popular gateway for visiting Seoraksan National Park. Sokcho Tourist & Fishery Market is a large traditional market offering many local products (eg. fresh and dried seafood) and local street food. Convenient bus services operate within Sokcho and out of Sokcho. There is a beach at the southern end of the city. We saw several new high rise buildings under construction indicating further expansion of the city in the near future.

I really like to visit seoraksan national park for mount hiking.
I visited Sokcho fish market and had King crab.
Bus 7 and 7-1 go to Sokcho express bus terminal/ Sokcho intercity bus terminal/ Sokcho seafood market.
I used to stay resort before. It is nice and good scenery but I had to use taxi all the time. I stayed near Sokcho express bus terminal/Sokcho beach this time, it save lots of transportation cost, so I enjoyed king crab.

Sokcho is a great city.
Sokcho is a great city. It is close to the national park, and the park is exceptional. The beach is nice. Public transit is clean and efficient. Taxis are readily available and clean/safe. Restaurants, cafes and market food options are unlimited.
The is a not springs foot bath in Sockcho that I have never experience elsewhere and is a great stop. We could have spent a week in the National Park on trails.

The beach was nice: not too crowded on week days but a little overcrowded on weekends. The sand was a little rough, so by the end of the day my feet were sore. If I went again I would only stay Monday-Friday, as parking near the beach was impossible to find on Saturday.

Visions of Sokcho: where the mountains meet the sea.
Sokcho-si is a beautiful coastal city located in the northeast of the Gangwon-Do province of South Korea.
The city is famous for its history, culture, national parks, natural beauty, and local cuisine. The city is a popular gateway to the famous Seoraksan National Park.
Unfortunately it was raining and we couldn't hike Seoraksan, but we were able to stroll around the city.
The closest hotel to the entrance of National Park. It was old but clean with English style decorations. Each floor has different theme that is very nice to have Korean singers and musicians included too. We didn’t have breakfast and dinner at the hotel but inside the park there were many restaurants and coffee shops to choose. We enjoyed our 3 days staying here, great mountain views from our room windows. We were able to adjust our room air condition too and had no problem with hot water at all.
The hotel is very close the the Express Bus Terminal, it only took us ~10min by foot to reach the hotel after arrival.
Sokcho Beach is very close by, as well as convenience stores, several restaurants and coffee shops as well.
The location is very convenient for exploring Sokcho both by foot and using public transport.
The room had everything you need and the view was nice, it was clean and comfortable.
I also liked the contact-less check in.
I would definitely come again.
Chose this hotel because of the good location (near the local Sokcho market, view of the lake and also the Soraksan mountains)
The room was clean and had everything we needed. There is a convenience store on the first floor which is very convenient
We had a late night check in and with the smart key we received via email, had no problem checking in without any help from the hotel staff.
I recommend this hotel, for the price and quality of services it is one of the best in Sokcho
The Hostel is well located and surrounded by main touristic places. The bus for Seoraksan National Park is just 2 blocks away from the Hostel.
As for the room, it's very comfortable and we'll equiped to make you feel at home. It's very quiet so you can sleep easily
The manager James is very kind and will help you finding best places to visit Sokcho.
I would definitely recommend this place for any person who want to spend time in one of the beautiful city of South Korea ! :)
If you want to experience Seoraksan National Park to the maximum, this is a must stay. Even though the hotel is a bit outdated in style, it did not matter. The beds and linens were fantastic. The biggest standout was the breakfast buffet in the morning. So much choice; very high quality, and substantial enough to fuel a great day of exploring in Seoraksan. After visiting the area, I would still not book anywhere else. (We did have a rental car to come and go.)
Very close to Seoraksan National Park and easily accessible from Sokcho Express Bus Terminal! Smile Resort has the loveliest staff that are extremely attentive to your needs and make sure that you feel right at home. There is a kitchen in case you want to prepare some easy food and every morning a tasty simple breakfast is served. The atmosphere is very warm and cozy, and I simply can't wait to come back. (-:
Nice and practical place to stay if you want to visit Sokcho and Seoraksan. You'll get lots of information here on these popular destinations with Korean travelers! Will be busy on weekends. Cleaning in the main area is from 12-3 and lights go out at 11 pm. The breakfast is good and there's a fridge to store some things but no facilities for cooking (except microwave). Thank you for your kind hospitality!
The hotel itself was looking like a pretty new one, the room was clean. Bed, floors, and baths were clean, but stuff like pans, dishes and microwave were smelly after people who were living before me. So we cleaned it by ourselves...
I liked location, the room and the fact there were aircon and washing machines <2 washing machines. Samsungs> Super close to the beach. Also sea view was pretty nice 👌
We got the family room, which was very comfortable for my family of 4. The kids loved having an "upstairs" with the two smaller beds being in a loft-type area. The shower was hot and had good pressure (important for me!). Very close to the bus terminal, the local bus stop, the beach, and multiple convenience stores. All around excellent place to stay in Sokcho.
Nice & simple rooms and very friendly and helpful staff. Bed heater! (Very nice after a rainy hike) Good location for reaching Seoraksan park and you could also easily arrive from Sokcho station with bus 7-1. I loved the atmosphere around the place with the abandoned hotels!European breakfast and convenience store nearby.
The host Judith is warm, hospitable friendly and very
helpful. My stay was the most memorable during my trip in South Korea. Highly recommended.
This place is strategically located in front of Sokcho Tourist Market and busses to Yangyang, Seoraksan National Park and Naksana Temple.
Walking distance within Intercity bus. We didn’t have to take a bus/taxi from the bus terminal.
Location is near some convenience store and some restaurant (e.g. kalguksu). Walking distance from Fish Market. Cleanliness was top notch.
James was helpful.
This place is located very close to the famous Seoraksan National park. All Sokcho attractions are within a short drive distance. The room was quite standard and rather small, but OK for a short stay. Breakfast was excellent.
The hotel is in a great location. It was convenient to get around as a big mart is nearby and a lot of little restaurants are close by. The rooms were very clean and the perfect size for a little weekend get-away.
The property is beautiful with easy access to stairs down to the beach, walkways, and fresh fish restaurants. The beach view is beautiful from the hotel rooms.
