Lancaster Castle is 29 km away and Lancaster University is 38 km from the inn. Lovely staff, great breakfast, cosy room.

In beautiful Lakeland surroundings overlooking an idyllic brook, Glencree is situated between the villages of Bowness and Windermere. With free parking and free Wi-Fi, it serves hearty breakfasts cooked to order. Guests can swim in the property's off-site pool.

Breakfasts are all made from high quality local produce, with a selection of traditional full English breakfasts or vegetarian and continental options. Our stay at Glencree absolutely exceeded our expectations! The room was gorgeous, very modern and spotlessly clean. Breakfast was delicious, with a selection of cereals to choose from, fresh fruit and breakfast cooked to order. Great location, and lots of parking in the church across the road if the guest spots are taken. Would highly recommend Glencree to anyone looking for a stay in Windermere.

Overlooking picturesque hills, Meadowcroft Country Guesthouse is a family-run guest house in the tranquil Village of Ings, 2 miles from Windermere. There is free Wi-Fi in the bedrooms.

A delicious breakfast is provided each morning in the chandelier-lit dining room, which has a log-burning stove for the colder months. Full cooked options are served, along with cereals, yoghurts. This was one of our favorite stops on our recent trip. We all agreed, the beds were comfortable, the showers were hot, and the rest of the amenities were great. Elliott was a great host - giving us some advice about our next stop. Breakfast was delicious. With a pub within walking distance we couldn't ask for a better location.

The family-run Ambleside Townhouse is situated in Ambleside, 800 metres from Lake Windermere. It offers en suite rooms and a full English breakfast in the morning.

Each stylish room has fresh light décor. The staff managing the check-in and the breakfast was outstanding - warm, efficient and thoughtful. Breakfast was tasty, warm and filling and had good options. The beds were comfortable and the bathroom was large and spacious. Good strong shower and sufficient supply of hot water. The room was bright and clean.

The Westbourne is a beautiful guest house set in the peaceful area below Biskey Howe in the Lake District. Bedrooms feature walk-in-shower rooms, luxurious toiletries and large fluffy towels.

Bowness-On-Windermere's quaint shops and restaurants are just a short walk from The Westbourne. Free parking is available. It was really clean, and very cute!

Jerichos is a contemporary family-run guest house with stylish decor situated on a quiet side street in the heart of Windermere village. There is free Wi-Fi and free ample private parking.

Suitable for adults only, each room at Jerichos come with flat-screen TVs, en suite bathrooms and iPod docks. Tea/coffee making facilities are also provided. Original Victorian period features adorn the property, which also offers a cosy lounge. 10 minutes walk from the lake, very cosy lounge where you can drink wine, relax and discuss your daily experience. Very quite area and hotel. I have slept much better than in busy London. Hosts prepared wonderful breakfast that was dreaming about the whole day!

Just 1 mile from Lake Windermere this beautiful Victorian house is set in a peaceful location between Windermere and Bowness. It offers vintage-style, luxury accommodation including Egyptian cotton linens, flat-screen TVs with DVD players, as well as free Wi-Fi. Wonderfully quirky little B and B. A very comfortable room with enough bedroom space. Loved the claw bath, this was in the bedroom, I loved this but some may not. The staff were friendly and welcoming. This little place was the perfect walking distance to Bowness for restaurants and Windermere for shopping.
