Newell Bistro and Rooms was a revelation. Large room with very comfortable bed, excellent bathroom facilities, and although the price of breakfast was not included, it was excellent value - my husband said his best scrambled eggs and delicious espresso. We didn't get the chance to try their lunchtime French menu which was very inviting. Excellent value for the money - in room and breakfast.

Gemma (I think? Sorry if that's wrong) the hotel manager was absolutely fabulous and couldn't have been more welcoming. As it was my other Half's birthday they added some lovely touches to the room such as a heart of petals on the bed and a card from all the staff. The room was lovely and the breakfast was delicious with plenty of choice. Would highly recommend and will be returning.

This hotel was very tired and could go with a luck of paint… the bathroom was grubby.. toilet seat had black marks where it had had the enamel scratched off the shower glass had mould at the bottom of it and the shower may was grubby underneath… also the entire room was lacking in any light.. the fans from the kitchen were a constant hum and the bed linen wasn’t big enough for the two single beds they’d put together .. we booked for 2 nights but left after one… the staff were great and food was ok but accommodation was shocking… also accommodation want even in the pub but around the corner I would like someone from customer services to contact me direct about the entire experience please

Sherborne is a perfect small town; historic buildings, compact town centre with a wonderful variety of independent shops and brilliant pub’s and restaurants. Try the Digby Tap for great Real Ale and Tambourinos for a fantastic Italian Restaurant.

A very interesting town.
A very interesting town. The castle and gardens are well worth a visit. Also the Abbey is magnificent along with the area ribs about. The high street has plenty of interest, with several independent cafes and shops. The town is architecturally attractive. Plenty of cat parks.
What a wonderful gem we have found. Gorgeous spacious room, and bathroom.
Love the Victorian style bath. Bed so comfy had the best night's sleep. Very quiet.
Rupert and Camilla were super friendly and helpful. Perfect hosts.
The breakfast was delicious.
Incredible value for money.
We have stayed in ,5 star hotels that don't match this standard.
We will definitely return.
And definitely recommend.
Clean, spacious and comfortable. Had everything we could need. Great location in the town, and Sherborne is beautiful. Very helpful hosts answering any queries promptly. Parking turned out to be so easy, either on the roadside or in the long term Carpark a very short distance away. The railway station is also a couple of minutes walk away - very handy for a day excursion.
A very warm welcome awaits you at the Half Moon. The staff were very friendly and helpful. The beds were very comfortable and the room was warm and cosy. Our room had a lovely view of Sherborne Abbey. Enjoyed classic pub snacks in the evening and a heart breakfast sandwich. Handy to have on site parking which if free is you purchase food or drinks at the pub.
Our room was very comfortable. We were tucked away on the second floor, so it was very quiet and private. All the hotel staff staff ‘clock-off’ at 9pm and the guests are left alone with a phone number and the run of the hotel, which was a little odd but also quite good fun!!
Unbelievable food, very hospitable staff, lovely location. We didn't get the best weather for walking but did go into Sherborne for the Saturday market which is beautiful and visited Haynes Motor Museum on the way home on Sunday which was a brilliant morning out.
spacious rooms, comfy beds, simple decor, the tea/coffee/water in a little kitchenette on the same corridor is better than other hotels with kettles in the bedroom. Checking in and out was very simple and owners were very hospitable/flexible on time of arrival.
The location in Sherborne is perfect. It is right in the center of shops, restaurants and cultural attractions. The apartment is roomy, clean, quiet, and attractive. Our host, Paul, was easily available to answer any questions. We felt well cared for.
Susie and her Claire Cottage were fantastic! Beautiful historic home that was within walking distance of all of Sherborne's best attractions, restaurants, cafes and pubs. Breakfast was scrumptious. A day trip to Lulworth Cove is highly recommended.
Host was pleasant and greeted me on arrival and showed me around. Spacious accommodation built over the hosts garage. Very comfy bed and was lovely waking up to a scenic landscape and birds singing. Property not far from Sherborne.
A cleverly appointed studio minutes from Sherborne station. Has everything a couple or small family would need for a short stay. Very clean and comfortable. All the little touches like the wireless phone charger were much appreciated.
Breakfasts were wonderful! Susie is the most welcoming host and the room was exquisite. Location, within 2 minutes walk from the delightful Sherborne town centre with its varied Pubs and restaurants, is just perfect.
Spacious bedroom & bathroom, garden access and warm welcome from the host. Semi rural location with easy access to major road routes & short distance from Sherborne. Good overnight stay.
A new hotel recently opened. Rooms very spacious. Bed very comfortable. Shower good. Parking just outside and free for residents. Excellent breakfast. Staff all local and very pleasant.
